

DeAnn Maginnis passed on July 31, 2026, at the age of 67. De Ann was a resident of Middleburg, Florida. Born November 14, 1958, at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Patricia J. (Jacot) and Jerry F. Morrison. Her parents established roots in Eden, North Carolina. She graduated from Moorehead High School and grew up in the Holly Hills Christian Church and later the Central Christian Church, where her steady faith and gentle spirit were evident to those who knew her.
DeAnn approached her work with diligence and care. After high school, she became a pharmacy technician for Moorehead Hospital. On June 16, 1990, DeAnn married her husband of 36 years, Steven Maginnis (US Navy Retired).
DeAnn worked as a Unit Secretary for the Maternity floor CA Berkley Hospital as a receptionist for a Cardiologist in Memphis TN, offering thoughtful attention and patient professionalism. She proudly retired from UF Shands, where she served as a receptionist in OB billing, remembered for her reliability, generosity of time, and compassionate presence. Her devotion to family was constant and deeply felt, and she was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her husband, Steven Maginnis; son, Sean Maginnis; sister, LuAnn Collins; and niece, Hannah Beha.
An artist at heart, DeAnn found joy in crafts, professional coloring, and knitting. Quiet pursuits that reflected her careful hands and thoughtful nature. She also loved “cruising around” on cruise ships, seeing the world with a spirit of adventure and a brave openness to new horizons. In the lives she touched, she leaves an enduring example of faithfulness, hard work, and compassionate strength.
A private Celebration of Life will be held.
