Ella Morillo Arana, age 91, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on June 29, 2026. Born on September 5, 1934, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ella was the cherished daughter of the late Maria Teresa Arana and Antonio Morillo.
Throughout a long and meaningful life, Ella carried herself with a steady devotion to faith and family. With a spirit marked by compassion and generosity, she offered warmth freely—often in the form of a smile, an embrace, and a sincere interest in the lives of others. Her loyalty ran deep, and her presence had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and remembered.
Ella and Manuel built a life grounded in unwavering faith, guided by a servant’s heart and expressed through love, kindness, and grace. Even in the ordinary moments, Ella’s humor and bright energy shone through, a reminder that dignity and joy can live side by side. Small in stature yet strong in resolve, she met life with determination and an adventurous openness—never accepting “no” as the final answer, and believing that a new friend was often only a conversation away.
A lifelong learner, Ella earned her Associate in Science Degree in Business Administration. She also found delight in simple, life-giving pleasures: dancing along with her favorite artists, Manny Manuel and Juan Gabriel y Raphael, and spending quiet time reading.
Ella is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Manuel Acevedo; brother, Antonio Morillo, Jr.; and sister, Socorro Morillo. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Sharon Lisa Acevedo (Marcos), Ginette Acevedo (Angel), and Ella Acevedo (Jose); grandchildren, Pierre Legarreta, Yuviann Ramirez, and Ginann Ramirez; and sister, Maria Antonio (Manolin).
A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held in Puerto Rico. Arrangements are entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Rd., Middleburg, FL 32068.
