Faye Wright Mix, age 88, of Orange Park, Florida, entered the eternal heavens on Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Faye was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Festus and Leathea Wright.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, Faye lived a life centered around faith, family, and service. A proud graduate of the University of Alabama, Faye was a passionate lifelong educator whose heart for teaching touched the lives of countless students over the years. A faithful member of Trinity Community Church in Fleming Island, Florida, Faye’s deep love for the Lord guided every chapter of her life. Her Alabama roots remained strong throughout her years, and she cheered proudly for her Crimson Tide—Roll Tide!
Faye's greatest joy was her family. She shared 55 cherished years of marriage with her husband, Robert Edwin Mix, a dedicated military spouse who supported his service with grace and resilience. She was a loving mother to her daughter Judy Key, a caring sister to Eugenia Black (Richard Black), and a proud grandmother to Erin Key.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Festus and Leathea Wright. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, gentle strength, and boundless love.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Trinity Community Church – Fleming Island, 6865 Pine Ave, Fleming Island, FL 32003. Funeral services will begin promptly at 10:30 AM, followed by a reception where friends and family may gather to share memories and offer condolences. A committal service will take place at 2:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
