Francis Mwangi Gichia, 80, passed away May 9, 2016. He was born September 14, 1935 in Kenya and resided in Middleburg, Fl. He worked for many years as a cosmetic research and development chemist with a specialty in hair and skin care. He was fond of photography and was often taking photos of flowers and landscapes as well as people. Gardening was his first love and he would spend countless hours working in the yard planting and tending his vegetables. Mr. Gichia is survived by his wife of 54 years Jannie, daughters; Lydia (Marvin) Black, Barbara (Marcus) Gichia- Vazquez, Nancy (Daryl) Gichia-Meeks and Njeri (Darryl) Gichia-Broussard and son/nephew Anthony Ford (Rose) and 8 grandchildren. Family visitation will be Friday May 13, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the home , 3714 Bedford Dr. Middleburg, Fl. The viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday preceding the funeral service which will be held 2 PM Saturday, 5/14/2016 at The Good Samaritan Church, 3813 Old Jennings Road Middleburg, FL.
