Barney Barnes

August 3, 2019

I was prompted to enter "Captain Brockhausen US Navy" in a search engine and a very familiar picture appeared with "several" other Brockhausens.
I then noted the obituary and that the funeral was today. Amazing!

I served with Fred when he was the CO of HS-1 and I was a LtCdr. I remember that he was a very caring and capable leader...highly respected by everyone. My wife Pat fondly remembers serving with Jeannie in the Officer Wives Club. So we would like to take this somewhat unusual opportunity to pray for the Peace of Christ to comfort Jeannie and the family. Barney and Pat Barnes, Summerville, SC

Fred will be very much missed. Pete and I will remember his sweet smile, wonderful disposition and his great tenacity. With whatever was thrown at him, he battled the tough fight. Rest in Peace. Prayers to Jeannie and family.

Capt Brockhausen was my first squadron commanding officer after I became a CWO, I couldn't asked for a better mentor. TGIT shipmate , you have lived a well lived life.
