He was a devoted husband to Glenda for 49 years. Together they had six children: Diana Callais, Donna Kersey Lachico (Roger), George “Bo” Kersey (Kelly), Penny Courtney, Mark McGlothlin (Nancy), and Saundra Rohman (Steve), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; remaining siblings: Philip Kersey and Anne Talton.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister.
He was a proud Navy veteran who served his country with honor for 20 years, and a man whose spirit was deeply rooted in faith, family, and the great outdoors.
He found joy in fishing, building fish ponds, feeding wild birds, and camping beneath the stars. He and Glenda shared a love for planting and nurturing life together.
Known for his humor and resilience, he often joked about his many falls—calling it “falling gracefully.” His love for gospel music and his
unwavering faith in Jesus were constants in his life. He shared that love freely, and his spirit continues to inspire all who knew him.
