Gloria Swirko Burkett 86 of Orange Park FL passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024. Military Honors Services were held for Gloria and Von (her husband) at Bushnell National Cemetery, Bushnell FL on December 20, 2024, to commemorate their 66th Wedding Anniversary. Gloria was born in Wallington, NJ. She was the 7th of 7 children. After graduating high school, she joined the Air Force September 1956 where she was an Aircraft Control and Warning Operator and where she met and married her husband Arthur Vaughn Burkett Jr. on December 20, 1958. After 3 years of service, she left the military as Airman 2nd Class. Gloria had a passion for collecting Precious Moments figurines. She loved shopping and looking for that great deal. She worked in various department stores over the years. Had a passion for unfortunate animals and gave a lot to charity. Gloria was very giving to those less fortunate Gloria was preceded in death by her Parents Harry and Helena Swirko; Sisters Anna Drozd, Marie Telischak, Helen Dec and 3 brothers: John, George and Joseph Swirko. Von passed 9 days after she passed.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kori Burkett Rapier and Randall Rapier of Locust Grove Ga; daughter and son-in-law Kristyn Burkett Minkoff and Ron Minkoff of Gainesville FL. She is also survived by 3 grandsons, one granddaughter.
