Harlow James Capes Sr, 71, passed away on June 13, 2026. He was born in Akron, Ohio to the late, Elmer and Sarah Capes. He served his country faithly, retiring after 20 years of service from the US Navy. Following his Navy retirement, Harlow worked for a subcontractor for the Navy 26 years and was also a retired member of the IBEW union.
He was predeceased by his sister, Pauline Stevic and grandson, Trenton.
Harlow is survived by his loving wife, Sheryll; son, Harlow "Jimmy" Jr and his wife, Jennifer; sister, Chandis Capes; brother, Noel Capes; grandchildren: Michael, Trenton and Lorianna; a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM, Friday July 10, 2026 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, Lane 3, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL with military honors.
