Hugh A. Caldwell Jr., 93, passed away September 7, 2015. He was born July 30, 1922 in Charlotte, North Carolina and resided in Middleburg, Florida. He proudly served in the US Air Force and retired from Southern Bell after 40 years of service. He was an avid horticulturalist specializing in camellias and azaleas. He was a very spiritual man and charter member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church. He was a gentle giant who spoke few words but was larger than life for those who knew him. He adored his family and his newly extended family to include "Bob", Ray, Kristan, Jacob and Karli Casey. Hugh was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth of 64 years. He is survived by his daughter; Carol Price, grandchildren; Leigh Sayre (Bobby Casey) Jamie Price and Terry Sayre and great grandchildren; Alex Price (Mercedes), Andy Sayre and Jeremy Price. Funeral service is 12 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015 with 1 hour prior visitation at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 116 Foxridge Road Orange Park, FL. Interment to follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Reception following Interment at St Giles Presbyterian Church.
