

James Therman Barlow, age 85, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. He was born in Glade Spring, Virginia to the late, James and Emma Barlow. James served his country proudly by retiring after 25 years from the US Marine Corp as a Sergeant Major. He served in the Vietnam War, was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of the Gideon's International and has served many years at His Gideon Camp (Clay County South Division).
James was predeceased by his loving wife Barbara and his siblings: Joe, Raymond and Jane. He is survived by his children: Joy Allison Lehr and James T. Barlow Jr.; brother, Larry Barlow; sisters: Gerry and Aileen; grandchildren: Jillian R. Marquez, Christian R. Lehr, Patricia N. Barlow, Elizabeth J. Whitehead and Ellison H. Eddy; great grandchildren: Ashlyn Barlow, Aspen Lehr, Oliver Lehr, Charlotte Lehr, Genesis Barlow, Finnegan Lehr, Cameron Barlow and Indiana Eddy; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Hibernia Baptist Church, 7100 US-17, Fleming Island, FL 32003. Graveside service with full military honors will be held 1:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery (Lane 3), 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to The Gideon's International, an organization that was near and dear to James' heart.
