Jean Hill Scheetz Gallupe was known for her vibrant spirit, fearless nature, and unwavering love for her family. She was born in Jacksonville to Harold Hill and Anna Martin Hill on November 1st, 1955, along with her twin sister Joan, into a close-knit family of eight siblings. She attended schools in Clay and Duval counties and graduated from Nathan Bedford Forrest High School in 1973.
Jean was a caretaker, always attentive to the needs of others, offering support and compassion without hesitation. In her final act of kindness and sense of humor, Jean passed away on February 29th, ensuring that we commemorate her life's journey only once every four years.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brother Joe Hill, her second husband Sam Scheetz, her sister-in-law Dot Hill, and her nephew Bobby Hill.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Erin Baker (Travis) of Fleming Island, and her two grandchildren, Gavin Baker and Reghan Baker.
She was the sixth of nine siblings: Martin Hill (Martha), Hal Hill (Janet), Howard Hill (Karen), Jim Hill, John Hill (Suzanne), Nancy Jones (Jerry), and her twin sister Joan Griner (Roger). Jean is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Though Jean may have left this world, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she shared so generously in life.
