Jessie Mae Jenkins was born on August 28, 1921, in Beaufort, South Carolina to loving parents, Henry and Lavienia Thomas (both deceased). Mrs. Jenkins passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL.
Jessie graduated from High School and Nursing School in New York. After graduating from Nursing School, she worked in hospitals and Nursing Homes in the area.
Later she worked for the New York City Health Department and retired from there and moved to Jacksonville, Florida over 30 years ago.
Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Leroy Jenkins AND son Melvin Jenkins. She leaves behind her loving and supportive daughter Linda Jenkins, brother In law Frank Jenkins, a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
The family will receive family and friends from 11am – 1pm on Saturday, September 28th at Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL.
