John Stewart McAlpine III

John served in the military and, in the years that followed, built a life defined by honest work as a baker at Bess Eaton and Closetmaid in Ocala. In every season, he met responsibilities with steady resolve and perseverance, offering those around him both strength and warmth. He was a beloved presence to many—marked by loyalty, thoughtfulness, and a generous spirit—carrying his faith with quiet constancy and extending compassion in ways that will be long remembered. Even in life’s harder moments, John’s resilience and good humor endured, leaving an example that inspired family and friends alike.

John was the son of the late John McAlpine II and Phyllis Babcock-Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, and 1 grandchild.

John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Catherine McAlpine; his daughters and sons, Lori (Scott) McGlynn, Caranne (David) Gallegos, Cristen (Frank) Weller, Andrew (Theresa) Chiaponne, and Michael McAlpine; and his grandchildren, Samatha (Logan) Lee, Meagan (Trent) Klein, Jessica (Garret) Weller, Cassandra Weller, RikkiLee (Lee) McCroskey, and Scott (Shayla) McGlynn, Danielle McAlpine and Leeann McAlpine . He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

John’s life was a testament to courage, devotion, and enduring love—qualities that will continue to live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
