I always got your back right from the day you came to this world. It was nice growing up with someone like you. Our childhood memories were more than an emotional bond. We didn't always see eye-to-eye but we were always heart-to-heart. You will always stay loved and remembered, you are forever in my heart until we meet again. I love you my dearest Brother.

You will be missed forever and always Uncle Joe. The beautiful moments you shared with us will always speak of the great person you were.

It’s not easy to say goodbye to such a wonderful man. Sadly, our dearest Uncle Joe passed away on January 18, 2022.  A great husband, grandpa, uncle, brother and friend who have touched so many lives. Despite the fact that I’ve only met him a few times in the Philippines while I was younger, I’ve grown very fond of him because he is just so easy to like. He’s always ready for his dad jokes whenever you’re around him. You could see in his eyes when he looks at my Tita Doris, just how much love he has for her. It is such a delight watching those two on the dance floor. He carries himself so well even if his wife would be towering over him with her high heels. He was such a great dad to his 3 children and a great grandpa to his 2 grandkids. I will be forever grateful to him and my Tita for helping me get my plane ticket to come to the US. That debt may have been paid but I will forever owe him for all the kindness he has showed me. That kindness will be paid forward for sure. You have left us too soon, none of us were ready for that. We will miss you terribly, Tito Joe! 

I now struggle to remember what happened just moments ago, my memory is failing me.  But somewhere in the back of my mind, I know that you didn't forget and never gave up on me.  Thanks Pareng Joe!

My name is Audrey Caro better know as Cookie and I worked with Joe Bano for many years. I considered him as my family. I remember when Joe had an interview and he got dressed his shirt was a little to tight. He told me that he hadn’t wore that shirt in a few years and we both laugh so hard. Joe is a very smart, intelligent, brilliant and is just a wonderful great guy. Joe was the best at his job nobody knew it like him. I admired him so much. I’m just so lost for words right now. RIP my brother.

Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

Joe is predeceased by his parents: Lawrence and Elena Bano. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Doris Ungco Miranda Bano; 3 children: Christopher Bano and his spouse, Rachelle P. Bano, Rowena Joy Bano Fusilero and her spouse, Nik Fusilero, Billie Jean Bano and her spouse, Oudone Tham; brother, Jerry Bano and his spouse, Aida Bano; sister, Elizabeth Caballero and brother-in-law, Rey Caballero (RIP); 2 grandchildren: Jaiden Noy Bano and Riley Brooklyn Bano; and a host of extended family and friends.
