Kevin Michael Cason

Kevin Michael Cason, age 60, was born August 3, 1965, and passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on August 2, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer. Kevin was a resident of Orange Park, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

Those who knew Kevin remember a man whose steady goodness was felt more often than it was announced; he was kind-hearted, thoughtful, and generous in the quiet, everyday ways that mattered most. He carried himself with faith and courage, meeting life with a brave spirit and an adventurous openness to whatever came his way. Even in the serious moments, Kevin’s sense of humor would lighten a room, offering comfort without ever asking for attention.

A hard working and dedicated provider, Kevin built a career defined by reliability and skill. He worked for Atlantic Logistics as a logistics specialist and prior to that, he spent thirteen years at Davis Express as a planner. Kevin always said he was the air traffic controller of trucks; because, “If it has wheels, he’s moved it.” His work ethic began early, growing up working in the family business at R.P. Martin Seafood in Richmond, Virginia. Over the years, his work relocated him to Atlanta, Tallahassee, and finally to Jacksonville, where he continued to be known for steady diligence and the example he set for others.

Kevin’s greatest joy was his family. He loved his children more than life itself and cherished time spent with them. He is survived by his wife, Marla Cason; his children, Ashleigh Cason and Alec Cason; his mother, Darenda “Nena” Peck; his grandmother Evelyn Martin, his sister, Amy Davis; step mother Mary Cason, his step sisters, Deborah Garrett and Kathryn McWhirter (Paul); and his uncle, David Martin, who was the brother Kevin never had. He is also survived by his uncle, R.P. Martin, III, (Marty)and (Susan); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Terry Cason; R.P. Martin, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Samuel K. Cason (Thelma); his great grandmother, Zinnie Arnold; his uncles, Kilby Arnold, John L Arnold, Wayne Martin, and Samuel Cason; and his aunts, Glenda Jones, Sylvia Chandler, Patricia Payne, and Carolyn Martin.

A devoted sports fan, Kevin was an avid Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Jacksonville Jaguars fan. He loved the outdoors, cycling, fishing, and attending NASCAR races. His hobbies included watching movies, sports, listening to music, spending time with his family and cooking for his wife.

Kevin was hooked on cruises from the moment he and Marla boarded their honeymoon cruise and he was already planning their next one; because he was always looking forward and ready for another shared adventure with his beloved wife, Marla.

Kevin will be remembered with deep respect, lasting affection, and most importantly, his faithful heart, hardworking spirit, generosity, and the everlasting inspiration he freely gave simply by showing up for those he loved.
