

Leon G. Haselwood Sr, He was born in 1937 in Wesconnet, FL. He was proceeded in death by his parents: Louise and Irving Stanley Haselwood and his brother, Irving Haselwood. He was raised by Eddie and Jewel West. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Hope Yvonne Haselwood; his sisters: Avas Gardener and Abe Pittman; one son, Leon Haselwood Jr (Denise); daughter, Leann Norman; step-daughters: Brenda Murphy (David) and Amy Godwin; grandchildren: Brittany Haselwood (Kenny), Brooklyn Haselwood, Leslie Norman, Noel Gamel (Jamie), Desiree Moxley (Matt), David Murphy Jr., Jonathan Murphy and Dustin Monroe; great-grandchildren: Jacklynn, Haily and Aiden Norman and Johnny Lewis Moxley; Numerous extended family and friends. Leon’s passions other than spending time with family was hunting and fishing. He worked at Sheet Metal Local 435 and was an active member for 50 years. He volunteered as a Deputy Sheriff County Mount Under Jennings Murhee from 1967 to 1975. A member of The Moose Lodge and Vise President of the Clay County Cattlemens Association for many years. He will be loved and missed by many. Active pallbearers are: Fredman Brooks, Frank Spencer, Virgil Musgrove, Jimmy Jett, Eddie West, Frank Jenkins. Honary Pallbearers: Johnny West, Wallace West, Jimmy Weeks, George Canter and Snook’s Carter. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM on Thursday (TODAY), October 29, 2015 and funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, October 30, 2015 at Long Branch Baptist Church, 5500 Long Branch Cemetery Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32234. Burial will follow in Long Branch Cemetery.
