Tom was born on December 21, 1942 in Norfolk, VA to the late Leonard and Louise Sawyer. He joined the Air Force at 17 where he proudly served our country for 20 years. He went on to work as a Personnel Arbitrator for the United States Postal Service.
Tom is survived by his “sweetheart” wife, V. Lynn Sawyer; three children, Trish Sawyer, Allie Smith, Matt Brownlee; eleven grandchildren, Kenzie, Tyler, Janèe, Kelsey, Adam, Megan, Hannah, Becca, Hailee, Aidyn, Emma; three great grandchildren, Theo, Beau, Maverick; his sisters Betty and Jeannie. He was preceded in death by his son Kirk, sister Wilma, and brothers Tim and Ted.

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:00 pm (Lane 2) located at 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
