Tony was born to Malcolm Philip and Thelma Baboolal on June 19, 1956, in Fyzabad, Trinidad & Tobago. He had a happy and adventurous youth growing up in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela surrounded by acquaintances from his school, the Colegio Militarizado Monseñor Arias, and community, many of whom remained lifelong friends. He had a passion for open water and deep sea fishing and a burning patriotism for his adopted homeland as a U.S. Army veteran. He eventually retired from his career as a Registered Nurse to be the best father and best friend to his youngest daughter in his final years.
Mario is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Julianne, and children Robert (Kendall) Harrison, Valerie (John) Nieto, Jose Pena, and Sofia Philip. He is also survived by his siblings Michael Philip, Joanne (Mike) Philip-Majors, and Lisbeth (Keith) Philip-Vetter and countless beloved extended family members and friends across the globe.
Please join us in remembering Mario Saturday afternoon March 25, 2023, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Hardage - Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home & Holly Hill Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Rd, Middleburg FL 32068. In lieu of flowers, Mario would have preferred a toast to your health and happiness or a contribution to wounded veterans at the woundedwarriorproject.org Salud!
