Mary is a Saint , alway giving and believing to do the right thing.
I met with Mary through the Orange Park United Methodist Church Program called Aflame .
She headed up the program to help children in need in in our local community. Mary met with me and explained the need these kids had at our local elementary school.
She explained it is not for us to question these kids but to listen and support their student life .
But as I followed her direction I found my self becoming closer to God and understanding the power is in God’s hands . I certainly knew that Mary knew this all along .
As time went on I became more in tune with the Lord and saw miracles happen for my student. Let me tell you it was not me , but Mary never took credit either .
I always tried to never interfere with my students thinking , but always let him know I was there for him . Mary always had the same logic.
Apparently it must have worked , my student that Mary picked was in third grade , I made all the way to his graduation to High School and was asked in 2019 to be his best man . What a blessing to the program Mary influenced .
I am still doing Alfame with a challenging new student heading to High School , since 3rd grade .
Mary took the time to be a wonderful friend to my Mother Margie Davis , what a Gem of a friend . That was really special.
Mary will never be forgotten and forever praised
as a turning point in my life.

Dear Julie & Jen, So sorry to learn f your mom's death. I can't imagine your sorrow. You mom was a strong , intelligent, woman of faith who lived life to it's fullest & shared love with all she met. She was an extraordinary mom, teacher, organizer & friend. She will be sorely missed. I think of all the memories of her @ Broadway-Sunday School, Bible school, church campouts, MYF activities, "Nights on Broadway", how she started our first Nursery School. She was a special friend to me & Betsy & Di loved & respected her. She loved others like Jesus wants us to do, & know that you honored her last wishes no matter how painful that may have been. There is no greater love than that. So to honor her memory celebrate her life & all she stood for & live joyously. She would have wanted that. Somehow I thought that she would live forever, & indeed she will but in heaven, not here on earth & will be waiting for all of us to join her when our life here is done. May God give you strength, peace & comfort. I would love to talk to you. God Bless.
Love, Ann

Mary’s lovely face and smile reflected the lovely, open spirit inside. Our church family at St. John’s UCC in Vincennes, IN, was so fortunate to have her in our midst for quite a few years. I remember her mother, her daughters, and her husband were also with her at church at various times. She was a part of our choir. Mary gave our church’s outreach programs quite a boost! Her social work background and her natural instinct to be an encourager certainly shone through in that aspect, but certainly too in her personal interactions. Mary Cook was a very special person! Her family has my condolences and prayers.
