Dearest Jackie, Michael, and Manny: We are heartbroken that a man as good and kind as Miguel has left this earth, but take comfort in knowing he is pain free in the lap of the Lord.  Miguel was a great friend and we always enjoyed his company and laughter.  We were so lucky to meet you all in Cairo and then continue to cross paths and share good times in Beirut, Maryland, Frankfurt, and Dubai.  Miguel's sense of humor was infectious, always with a  joke and a laugh. His other admirable trait was his dedication to family.  It was sweet that he would spend his evenings talking to "his bride" and would share the latest accomplishments of Michael and Manny.  He was so proud of you--and even more proud of being a grandpa!! Miguel was one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Although we worked together for only a short time at the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, he became a dear friend. He was thoughtful, genuinely caring, and deeply devoted to his family. May his soul rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Wishing them strength, comfort, and peace during this incredibly difficult time.

We are so deeply sorry for your loss. Miguel was a truly loving, kind, and caring husband, father, and grandfather whose love for his family was evident every day.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Miguel's passing.  I first met Miguel in Cairo in 2002, and over the years I had the privilege of working with him and learning from such an incredible person. From the very beginning, he welcomed Monte (Charles) and I with warmth and kindness.

Miguel was a man of great character who showed all of us what it meant to be a devoted partner, a dedicated parent, and a true friend. The love he had for his family was evident in everything he did, and the example he set will continue to inspire those who knew him.  We are grateful for the memories and the friendship we shared through the years. 

Our hearts are with Jackie and the entire family during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the countless lives he touched and in the legacy of love and devotion he leaves behind.  Know that every opportunity he got,  he spoke highly of and was proud of each of you.

Miguel, my friend, you will be deeply missed.

Miguel had a special way to always make me feel like family. Always treated me as if I was on of his own when I was around. Great dad and role model for all of us. Gone to soon but left us with such a beautiful family that reflects him perfectly, thank you for that gift! My name is Arthur Velasquez, I met Miguel only briefly, he came to a job in Jerusalem about 6 years to help out on a job for 3 weeks,  he knew and worked with a few of my close friends that I worked with over seas and they were hit hard by this, I just wanted to pass on my condolences to your family , the short time I worked with him, I could tell he was a well grounded quality human being, and was a pleasure to work with and  to know  even if it was for a short period. I remembered first meeting Miguel on my first job with the company, back in 2015 in Naples, Italy.  He came across as a happy cheerful person, very talkative and just someone always in a good mood, someone always willing to lend a helping hand no matter who it was, I had the privilege and pleasure to work with him for about eight years, we talked a lot about sports, travel and family life up until my last trip with him in Georgetown, Guyana in 2023, my memories of him will always be of him talking about his family, he was always talking about his wife, kids and grandchildren they meant the world to him. A lot of great adventures you and I both completed over these years. From our game drives in Kenya, wine tasting in Capetown, visiting the DMZ in North Korea, or just hitting the street markets around the globe looking for the next great deal. Great memories . I not only had the pleasure to work with you, but I had the honor to call you my friend and brother. I will miss all the conversations that we had about family and life outside of work. But I know one day we will meet again and  pick up where we left off and start a new adventure in the afterlife. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed.  God bless you and your family.

My sincere condolences to the Mejia family. I had the privilege of hiring Miguel in May 2015 under the Department of State program supporting overseas missions. He was a true professional with an exceptional work ethic, and was always praised by his teammates for his dedication and the quality of his work. He will be deeply missed by all of us. I'm so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to work with Miguel in Seoul, Cape Town, and Dushanbe. He was a great teammate and good friend. He taught me a lot and always had patience and kindness to teach me how to be better at the job. When I remember Miguel, I think of him wearing those little magnetic clip in the middle glasses so he could read the labels on cables hahah. He is truly missed.
