

Nola Vivian Warstler, age 100, was born January 24, 1922, in Justus, Ohio. She graduated from Beach City High School in 1940. On Christmas Day 1940, she married Earl Wayne Warstler, and together they had one daughter, Linda Fay.
Nola was formerly a member of the UMC in Justus, OH, where she taught Children’s Sunday School Class and Bible School. She played the piano and pipe organ. She was also a member of the Justus Sunday School Orchestra and the United Methodist Missionary Society.
During World War II, Nola worked as a secretary for the Alfred Nickles Bakery in Navarre, Ohio. Later, she worked in the accounting department of the Berger Division of Republic Steel in Canton, Ohio. She began attending Kent State University the year her daughter entered Mount Union College and graduated CUM LAUDE in 1970. She taught school in Navarre, Ohio, before relocating to Bay Village. She loved her students and taught fifth-grade science at Olmsted Falls for thirteen years.
In retirement, Wayne and Nola moved to Marblehead, OH, and traveled extensively for the next 20 years. During these travels, Nola took up photography as a hobby.
In 1989, Wayne and Nola moved to Copeland Oaks in Sebring, Ohio, where Nola resided until December 2017. Nola won recognition and awards for several photos she captured on her walks through the Copeland Oaks Campus. While living at Copeland Oaks, Nola was an active member of Union Avenue UMC, a Red Cross Volunteer at the Alliance Community Hospital, and also a volunteer for ABLE (Adult Basic Literacy Education) in Alliance through the Canton Public Schools.
She is survived by her three grandchildren Thomas Kouth, Tamara (Kouth) Maeder, and Tobin Kouth; three great-grandchildren: Luke Maeder, Lindsey Maeder, and Theodore Kouth; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nola is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Bertha (Fisher) Savage; husband Earl Wayne Warstler; daughter Linda Fay Kouth; grandson Timothy Kouth; brothers Arthur Savage and Lloyd Savage; and sister Effie Savage Lauck.
Funeral Services will be held at Lantzer Funeral Home May 14, 2022 at 11 AM. The family asks in lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Salvation Army.
