Norman was born on February 9,1931 in Brooklyn, Connecticut to Bertha (Hawkes) and Victor Henry Chartier. He proudly served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force, where he fought in the Korean War. On June 13,1953, he married the love of his life Barbara Lee Davis. Together they raised one son, Alan.
Norman was an amazing woodworker, despite his sight limitations. If he could think it, he created it. He was also a brilliant businessman and entrepreneur. He owned several successful businesses.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Victor Henry Chartier and Bertha Hawkes Wilson; and brother, Donald Paul Chartier.
Norman is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara, his son Alan, daughter in law Lisa, grandchildren Blake, Austin, Alana, and Vanessa, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
Norman will be interned at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at 2;30p.m.
