Patricia M. Hewitt ,87, passed away peacefully on December 27th with her family present. Pat was born in Mobile, Alabama. She graduated from Bishop Toolen High School and the Providence Hospital School of Nursing. Following graduation she worked for three neurosurgeons for several years. In 1959, she married P.E. (Ted) Hewitt and for the next 26 years they lived in nine cities during Ted’s Naval career. They settled in Orange Park one of their favorite cities, in 1985.
In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by a wonderful family who loved her dearly. She has four children: Michael (Abby), David, Kathy and Gregory ( Gerry). She has five grandchildren: Paul, Kevin (Kaitlyn), Amy (Jonathan), Hailey (Stephen) and Chelsea. For the past several months, she has cherished the many opportunities to see and love her two great-grandchildren: Hayes and Tillie. They truly inspired her each time she saw them.
A celebration of life service will be held in the HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Rd, Middleburg, FL at 11:00 on Friday, January 7th followed by internment. Friends and family are cordially invited to a luncheon reception at 1:00pm at Club Continental, 2143 Astor Street, Orange Park, FL 32073.
