

Rebecca Cook Pitts, 73, passed away on August 12, 2026. Born January 13, 1953 in St. Francois, Missouri, Rebecca was the beloved wife of Jamie Pitts. She proudly served as a United States Air Force Veteran and was a resident of Middleburg, Florida, for 30 years. She will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude for a life marked by steady faith, thoughtful care for others, and a quiet strength that lifted those around her. In all seasons, Rebecca’s faith and resilience were evident, and her kind-hearted way of loving others made her truly beloved to family and friends alike. Her spirit carried both courage and warmth—an adventurous willingness to meet life as it came, and an inspirational example of devotion and generosity that will not be forgotten.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Lewis Duncan; her father, Everett Eugene Cook; and her brother, Steven Eugene Cook.
She is survived by her husband James W Pitts and sister Jeanie Cook, children: Joe McMinn (wife Robin), Eric Pitts (wife Adaira), Kate Johns (husband Max), Tyler Pitts (wife Jaime), Kimberly Jordan (partner Alex Printy), and Becca Pitts. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Justine Schneiderjohn (husband Dylan), Milana Chung (husband Woo), Nadia and Nolyn Pitts, Josiah, Samuel and Silas Johns, Rylan, Trent and Harper Pitts, and Charlotte Jordan; and her great-grandchildren: Asher and Zander McMinn, and Juniper and Bronson Schneiderjohn.
Visitation will be held at her home church of First Baptist Church of Middleburg, 2645 Blanding Blvd, Middleburg, FL 32068, US, on August 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Holly Hill Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068, US, on August 21, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
