

Richard Louis Boggess, age 75 of Middleburg passed away on August 28, 2025. He was born in Bremerton, Washington to Cora (Lounsbury) and George Boggess. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Navy. After his retirement, in 1994 he then began working for Clay County Schools. He later went on to earn a degree in Computer Technology from St John's River State College which led to computer tech positions. He enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, chess and board games with family & friends. He was an avid reader of Science fiction books and he enjoyed watching Science fiction movies, including the Star Wars and Star Trek series. He enjoyed watching sports including the Seattle Sea Hawks, Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars. He was also a fan of NASCAR for many years, following driver Jeff Gordon and later Chase Elliott. He loved to grow Roses, Azaleas, Crepe Myrtles, Hibiscus and various other plants. He loved creating fabulous meals for the family, that were much appreciated. He always had fun babysitting and tending to his grandchildren.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, George Boggess and step mother, Ellen Boggess. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years Linda E. Boggess, children – Karen Hyman (Robert), Christopher Robinson (Jennifer) and Jennipher Robinson, Grandchildren, Kenneth Beasley (Tiffany), Jessica McCracken (John IV), Emily Robinson, Caroline Smith, Makiah Arline, Lindsay Robinson, Great Grandchildren, John McCracken V, Lillian Beasley, Jocelyn McCracken. He is also survived by his Mother, Cora Lounsbury Pike, Siblings- Connie Stroble (Mike), Ray Boggess (Ana), Debbie Branch (Doug), Bobbie Harrington(Jim) and their families.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 4 ,2025 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm with the Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home located at 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida 32068. Interment to follow after service.
