Rose Mary Clark, 78, passed away on October 3, 2019 in Middleburg, Florida. She was born in Bloomington, Illinois to Walter and Mae Arbogast. She graduated from Central High School in Davenport, Iowa, in 1959, and married James Clark, Jr. in 1969. They lived on their farm in Grand Mound, Iowa, for most of their married life. She worked for years at the Grand Mound Locker Plant and retired from Farm ‘N Fleet in Davenport. In 2015, Rose and Jim decided to spend their retired life in Florida.
Rose loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards, gardening and feeding the hummingbirds. She was a “farm girl” at heart and loved animals and all things country. Rose was compassionate and always rooted for the underdog. She would give someone her last penny if they needed it, and she helped and cared for many along the way. Rose was a friend to all, a mother to many, and lived by Jesus’ saying: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
Rose is survived by her loving husband Jim; daughters Deanna (Clark) Hill (Ronald Hill) and Lisha Clark; grandchildren Ryan and Brandon Hill, and Tony, Isaac, Marc, Ben, and Joshua Mejia; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister Sharon Holder; sister-in-law Marcia Arbogast, and many extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19 at the Radisson Quad City Plaza in Davenport, Iowa. In lieu of flowers and in Rose’s spirit of giving, please donate to the Grand Mound Volunteer Fire Department.
