Ed Auld and I met in the 80s when JFRD and JSO shared the same rather cramped room in the Police Memorial building. Ed had a wonderful personality and was an excellent Dispatcher. After several years, JFRD Communications moved to a much better location and we hardly ever saw each other again. I eventually left JSO for other ventures including raising my son. After many years, I returned to JSO and ran into Ed at the JSO backup center which was a tiny room in the JFRD headquarters in what was once the Federal Reserve Bank on Julia St. It just so happened that Ed’s office was connected to the JSO backup center and I ran into him often. I teased him a bunch about all the great antics that went on in the JSO comm center, that we shared for years before the move. He was an exceptional dispatcher, supervisor and friend. I am greatly saddened to only hear just recently of Ed’s passing. I lost my husband in April 2020, so I have been greatly out of touch on illnesses and unfortunate passings of such great people. God bless you and your family Ed. The world has lost another great person!

My sincere condolences to Ed's family and friends at fire 911 who Ed leaves behind.  I will always remember Ed for his quick wit and kindness whenever I spoke with him. He will be thought of always with a kind heart. When I first started my 911 career on the law side, I had the pleasure of listening in on some of his calls and he really liked helping people and he was really good at it. He never stopped caring about the people. He was a true hero.  May God watch over his family and let them know how much Ed will be missed. 


Papa Ed was absolutely the best grandpa to our beautiful nieces. He was a wonderful man all around. We were lucky to have him in our family. Our hearts go out to Ryan and Debbie. We are here for you both anytime. We love you. Bill and Sharon 

I worked with Roy Auld in Fire Rescue Communications for many years.  Ed and I worked together on several projects, he was always a hard worker and willing to help when needed.    My condolences to the family, Ed will live on forever through the loving memories of his family and friends.

You made a huge impact on my life and I am  so blessed to have known you and Debbie. You will forever be etched in the heart of the Mikayla (aka Willie May), Kaitlyn G, my family and I, papa. We all miss you so. Today is going to be the hardest as a final goodbye but you live in our hearts. ❤️🥺❤️

Even though we never met in person, it was an absolute pleasure working with Roy virtually.  He was so kind and caring. My deepest condolences to his family.

I have had the pleasure of working with Roy for almost two years. He was always eager to learn more and was a gentleman in every interaction. Roy had a thirst for life that I truly admired. I will miss Roy very much, he was one of kind.

For eight years I had the pleasure of playing golf weekly with Ed. He was always good company and a great competitor. But most of all, Ed was a stand-up guy-- fair, honest, loyal. I’ll miss him.

I was a golfing buddy of Ed (as Steve and I called him) for nearly two years.   We played a great many rounds, taking friendly but highly contested quarters off each other. "making laundry money", i called it, but only when I won. Ed was fine company, always a great needler, and quite a story teller! I will miss him dearly, and want to express my deepest sympathies to all his family and loved ones.

I don't have words to express the honor that I feel for being having met you and being a part of your lovely family. The boys met in elementary school and are still best friends.  I cannot express the appreciation I feel for the love you showed Robert and me through all of the years.  You treated us like family. I respect you for reaching out and caring.   I enjoyed our frequent chats as one or the other of us swapped out kids before or after a sleepover.  As kids grew, we unfortunately fell out of touch   You will be missed. Peace be with you Ed.
