Sandra Marina Doaks, a beloved, brave, and compassionate individual, passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on March 15, 1952, in West Indies, Barbados, Sandra was known for her devoted, faithful, kind-hearted, and inspirational nature.
Sandra came to New York at the age of 16 by herself to rejoin her mother, having taken care of her siblings in Barbados while her mother began a better life for the family in the United States. Sandra's lifelong career in banking began in California as a teller for Wells Fargo, where she demonstrated her dedication and skill.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Harriet (Browne) and Eerie Burch, her brother Erin Burch, and her sister Beverly. Sandra is survived by her husband of 53 years, Sam H. Doaks. They began a family on September 26, 1972, in Winterhaven, California her loving and devoted son Gerald Doaks and his partner Jeni Lane, as well as 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Edwy (Skipper) of Trinidad, Anthony Burch, Annette Browne (Cicey), Kim Vetter, and Keith Difonzo.
Sandra was passionate about walking, music, bright colors, and spending time with her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Kansas City, Missouri.
