Happy Birthday my love!  So much is going on.  We’ve had two new great grandsons Kenneth and Maverick last December Gary’s and Melissa’s. Eric’s having a son Gunner in December this year.  Eli just turned 10 and was baptized today. Laurie fell and broke her left arm. I’ve been in ER ; had tests , been in hospital and they still don’t know what’s wrong with me.  It gets lonesome here without you and that smiling face. Soon the Holidays will be here. Time goes by so fast. Seems like the older we get the faster it goes by.  We all love and miss you so much! My love , The girls gave me a surprise 80th Birthday party!  Some of the family came!  It was a 1950’s themed party.  Lots of great food and a gorgeous cake Julie made.  Decorated with a pink poodle skirt on top, records on side, plus black and white checkerboard.  We dressed in 50’s style.  This weekend Kim’s 60th birthday party will be at Eric’s .  Kim’s already here with Kristie from Michigan.  Kevin will be in Friday .  Then I think they are visiting Universal in Orlando with Julie and Laurie going along with them.  Julie is having ornament exchange early this year as everyone can’t get together.  Getting harder for family every year!  I miss them so much.  Kyle and Jazzi and kids moved back to Nebraska this week!  This really hurts and I’ll probably never see them again.  Emma starts school this year.  Gary and his wife are having another boy in December.  Ryan moved in with me a few months ago.  Kylee will graduate in 2022. How time flies!  Still miss you so much!  Love you ! 

Happy New Year my love !  It’s been a rough year for everyone!  Been quarantined since February.  Been a year like no other!  Our world has been turned upside down due to COVID-19 virus.  Haven’t got to see grandkids in almost a year.  We’re praying for 2021 to be a much better year and to see family and friends once again.  With God’s help we’ll make it!  Yesterday was Kylee’s 17th birthday. Can you believe it !

Almost Christmas !  Today is Christmas Eve and our 62nd Wedding anniversary!  Love and miss you so much!.  

Baby it’s Christmas season again and 2020 has been a year like never before in the USA.  Been quarantined since February and wearing a mask for a virus called COVID-19.  So many have died from this terrible disease, some have been healed .  So we can’t visit anyone or really get out .  I do have to go to Doctors every 2 or 3 months, sometimes to store but girls do most of my shopping for me. I miss you so much.  Not fun being alone not having you to talk to.  Little Leo went to hospital again , going to put pacemaker in.  And on a brighter note Gary married a girl named Melissa a year ago and they have a baby boy named Kenneth Jerry Wood!  Yes, Kimmie’s a grandma.  Kyle and Jazzi are having  boy in March.  Don’t know what his name is yet.  This makes three , 2 girls and a boy.  Mike and Cass had a baby girl named Estelle.  Makes 21 great grands and one on the way.  I wish you were with me for Christmas! I will be alone this year.  Praying the New Year will be better for us all !  I thank God for his daily care.  Love and really miss you Tom.  Keep watch over me and Laurie, she’s been so sick.  Until we meet again!  

I saw Tom for the first time when I was 16. It was 1978. He looked like a character from a movie. Back then he was quite scary looking to a young man. Over the next few years I got to know him better, and found that even though he was quite a character, the man really loved his family.

He very much liked playing little jokes on me, and I always enjoyed the attention. My funniest memory of Tom is one winter, when he changed the gas tanks. He used a lighter to check for leaks, and it caught on fire. He was running all around, the girls were all running around, but it turned out okay and the night was very good.

One time his pig, Arnold got loose and he put together a posse, of which I was a member. He told me if I found him to stick my finger in and bend it so he couldn’t get away. I didn’t believe that one, so he told me to grab it by the ear. As luck would have it, I found that 200 pound pig and I grabbed its ear. It started hollering and fussing, but I didn’t let go. Tom came running, and he could not believe that I was dumb enough to grab that pig’s ear. 

I loved this man and he was my dad for a few years. I’ve told stories about my experiences with him, and all are good and from my heart. He and his wife raised a family with large hearts.

RIP Mr. Warren.

Had Christmas dinner at Julie's with her family.  Was a great time !  Had ornament exchange and then kids opened presents.  Was a hard time for me this year without your smiling face !  This would have been our 60th anniversary.  We had so much planned! Was lonely without you.    Now the beginning of 2019.  Plenty of fireworks around here. Miss and love you so much !  Happy New Year my love.  

My love, had Thanksgiving with Laurie and family at Shannons house.  Also had ornament exchange and you know what that was like !  On Monday, 12/10/18 Mike and Cass got married .  Tony came and picked me up for wedding.  They were so happy.  Cassandras dress was in maroon and Angel and Missy were in Christmas colors also. Tony performed the service.  I do so wish you could have been there with me !  On a sad note the baby boy Jens carrying, his heart has stopped growing on the left side and he will have to have immediate surgery after his birth, plus three more.  Say a prayer for a miracle healing from God . Next news is Kyle and Jazzi are expecting their 2nd baby in August.  That will make us 21 greatgrands.  I will be spending Christmas with Julies family this year.  Will let you know the rest of news later.  Love and miss you SO much !  Merry Christmas ! 

Tom we lost Betty on the 9th, but you got your sister with you now.  Hug her for me .  On a fun note some of our grandchildren got to open and lead the Jacksonville Veterans Day parade.  Kylee, Haydn, Alysa, Eli and Shannon.  The Navy band was behind them .  Bob and Julie, along with a smiling Breanna were also in the parade .  I know you are proud .  We so love and miss you !   Wish you were here .  Miss your jokes and smiles everyday !  Until we meet again know that I love you !  

Happy Birthday sweetheart !  The holidays are almost here.  Yesterday was Halloween and you should have seen all the grandbabies costumes.  They were adorable!  Mike and Cass gave us a new grandson in July and Jenny's expecting a baby in March .  That will make us 20 great grandchildren .  Kylee is in high school and had her first homecoming dance !  Time goes by so fast !  Wish you were here to share these special times.  I know how much you loved this time of year and being with the family.  We love and miss you so much !  

Happy Birthday Daddy!  I put you a birthday message yesterday on your Facebook page but thought I need to put one here, too. I miss you Daddy. I bet you are having a great time with all the family. I'm sure Reta made her presence known. Introduce her to Aunt Sherry cause she never got to meet her before.  One day will all be there having a cookout and having a great time together. I love You!

What  a mighty  God we have to have created a man so wonderful and amazing captivating  role model, and example of what we all should soar to achieve.  A man that could be standing  on the ground beside you and make you feel like your flying through the clouds, answer all your problems  and make it impossible to have any.  A man who  would  show up out of the blue in the darkest  hour to take you on an unforgettable  adventure  no matter the danger.  You  always felt safe beside of him.  A true angel, my Pop, and still to this day me and Pop do jobs together. He is always with us and here for all of us, the best listener and inventor  known to mankind.

My love, we lost Reta early this morning.  She was still breathing when ambulance came but, she passed before they got to hospital. Had a wonderful Saturday with her.  No sign of illness.  God needed another angel.  Eric and little Bre are devastated.  Wish I could ease their pain.  It's just hard to lose someone so young and leave behind a little one.  It was hard for Bre when you passed.  You take special care of her.  Love and miss all of you.

Hi dad I just sometimes feel like talking to you I usually talk to you in my head but decided to write on here,I can't say. I wish you were here because you are in a better place asleep in death not knowing the horrible conditions of the world and things around us,we lost another one in death today it's always so very hard for the living to deal with death.we have had a lot of hurricanes and earthquakes and even fires and volcanoes erupting just like it talks about in Revelation going on everywhere we are living so close in the time of the end and I know you believed that before you left us so I know one day daddy you will wake up and I will see you again and that's what keeps me going in this terrible world is knowing it won't be like this forever till that time comes daddy you will always have a special place in my heart ,I love You.

Kimmie's here visiting from Michigan.  She will be leaving this week.  Yesterday they had a family party for her so she could see everyone.  Almost everyone was there.  Good food, games and just chatting and enjoying being together.  You would have loved it and been right in the middle of everything.  Especially with all your babies ! Your 18th great granddaughter was born July 22, 2017 to Kyle and Jazzi.  Her name is Emma Leigh Ann and she weighed 8lbs and 7 oz.  She is so beautiful.  They will be moving back here next week from Nebraska.  I know you wanted that so much.  But at least Tony, Mike and Cass got back and you saw them.  You should see how cute Aiden is and Duke and Dominic .  They all just turned one!   I love and miss you so much.  All my babies have helped so much.  They are growing up so fast.  Love to all of you !

Miss you Daddy! Whenever I see some crafty sculpture I always think of you. I think Dad could have made that. When we were in Charleston there was a craft market in their Quarter and there was a booth with those welded nuts and bolts figurines like you used to make.  I love you!

Tomorrow is Austin's birthday,  yesterday was Aiden's first birthday, Duke just had his first birthday June 30th. Chelsea's birthday was the 1st of July and Dominic just had his 1st birthday.  Angel's and mine and G.J.'s is coming up yet.  Kyle's and Jazzi's baby girl Emma is due around the 16th.  Would be nice if she were born on my birthday. Well sweetheart it has been a year since you left us.  It was a hard day to get through.  Thank God Julie spent the day with me.  She took me to eat at your favorite BBQ place.  So much has been going on here.  Went through a devastating hurricane.  Had to leave home and stay at Laurie's a few days until it was safe to come home.  Ryan, Cara and the babies were there also.  They helped get us through it.  We lost power for a few days.  Dan had to use generator for a few days, but we are all safe.Know that you were looking out for us.  Did a lot of damage to Florida.  Trees were uprooted around here and some roofs gone.  A few people had trees smash their roofs.  But everyone is safe close to me.  Your birthday is coming up on the 23rd.  I was hoping they had your death date engraved before then since it's been since July I paid for it.  Checked this morning and still not done.  We lost Aunt Tiny on the 3rd.  That was heartbreaking.  She was such a sweet person.  Know that I love and miss you so much.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of you.  I'm always hoping I'll look up and see you in your chair or walking around the yard.  I love you baby !

Baby Happy Easter! Miss you so much.  We did everything together and its so hard to go through the days without you, let alone the holidays.  I miss your jokes and smiling face.  Its so quiet here without you.  I was suppose to be with Laurie and family for Easter, but it rained bad here and I didn't want to drive in the rain.  They got together on Saturday as they all had plans for Easter Sunday.  So I was alone.  Kimmie did call me and we talked a long time. Went to Jenny's baby shower this past Saturday at Shannons.  They had over 50 people there.  Got to play with Link and RyRy.  They are getting so big.  Jenny is due real soon.  They are naming him Dominic Raine Esposito.  I know, you can't say it so you would have nicknamed him like you did Gavin.  Mike and Cassandra are naming their son Aiden Michael Thomas after you.  John and Chelseas new son will be named Duke. So pretty soon you'll have three new great-grandsons.  Little Link's first birthday is coming up on Saturday.  They are having a party at Julie's.  Wish you were here.  Love you Babe.

Hey Daddy, Still missing you a lot. Every time I take Mom out to lunch it seems strange not to have you there. Every time I go to the Chili's in Fleming Island I remember that last time there with you. Makes you think you never know when it is the last at something. I saw the Elvis tickets went on sale for the concert in Feb that you, Mom and I were supposed to go to. It made me sad that you won't be here to see it. You would have loved it. Although I'm sure you will be able to see and hear it just fine, probably with the real Elvis. Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you. Love ya Daddy!

I cannot imagine a Christmas  without your presence my darling.  But, here I am my first Christmas alone.  Christmas was always special because we spent  it together.  This Christmas I want to tell you how much you mean to me. I am blessed to have had you in my life.  You are in my heart and spirit this Christmas and always.  You made each day brighter.  I feel your presence everyday.  I can almost see your smile and know our love is stronger than ever.  I miss you so much , but, when I feel sad I feel your arms around me telling me it's okay and you are happy.  I know you are with me.  So Merry Christmas, my love.

Well Daddy you have been gone now just over 2 months and still its hard for me. I know that you loved Christmas with us and you will be missed more than you know. Happy Thanksgiving baby !  Spent it with Julie and Bob, Eric, Reta, Bre at Retas brothers place. Had a great time , but so missed you.  Julie had an ornament exchange party on the 12th with all the family.  Eric made a case for your flag and presented it to me.  It was beautiful.  Sissy got your ornament.  We all missed your smiling face.  I love you Tom !

One thing I'm sure we can all say about Pop, is that he gave us all a story to tell. He taught every one of us something. Many times, you would have to learn "on the fly" while he sprinkled you with colorful bits of language, which encouraged you to complete your intended task just a little bit quicker... Even if you had no clue what you were doing. He could easily push you beyond your comfort level, which resulted in you becoming stronger and wiser, and raising that comfort level even higher. The Pop I remember didn't wait around. He taught us that time is valuable. He lived hard and he loved hard. Pop gave everything he had to his family and his friends. He loved everyone. He inspired us to love the same way. He taught that there is ALWAYS time for good humor. Pop loved to laugh, and he loved to make everyone else laugh, too. Sometimes you were lucky enough to feel how proud he was of you. He would stop talking for just a second, there would be a smirk on his face, and you'd catch him looking at you over the rim of his glasses. Then you'd get that Pop chuckle. I'm proud that I got the privilege to say the he was my Pop. 

I always knew that when he was around, I'd always have another story to tell later. We all did. He may be gone today, but his legacy will surely live on through our memories that we were lucky enough to share with him.

Thank you for everything that you taught me, Pop. I love you!

Shortly after I began dating Julie, Tom decided to subject me to his infamous jalapeño pepper test. At the time, I thought this was a peculiar test of a young man's affections for his daughter. However, my own father used to bring home jars of jalapeño peppers from a friend of his, and at his urging I developed a taste for spicy food at an early age. And so I eagerly accepted Tom's offer, passed his test, and we found something in common that day. In fact, whenever we had Tom and Virginia over for dinner, I never once heard Tom complain that my Turkey and Andouille Gumbo was too spicy.

Pop I remember the toothpicks you made, the times we ate at Sonnys and you use to tell jokes to the waitress that had us all rolling in laughter but Nana was embarrased.I remember when you had Tony and me drive the skidder he steered and I did the pedals. I have so many wonderful memories of you being in my life it will be hard to imagine life without you in it. I Love you pop:

My birthday is coming up in November and Daddy always wanted to be the first to wish u Happy B day so one time he called rooster country the radio station and had them wish me happy birthday on the air to his daddies little fatty. Some people would have been hurt by that but i knew it was him and know it was his little nick name that he had given me. I would love to hear that any time. The smile you gave me when you said it and I would crawl up in your lap and laugh with u. I love you and will always be your little girl. Dad wish you were here right now to celebrate with me I'm gonna be a Grandma Mike and Cassandra are having a baby. I am really glad you got to meet her and the boys moved back to Florida and they at least got to see you before you left this world because it helps ease the pain just a little bit to be able to know you got in some visits not to say goodbye but see ya later alligator. DAD: you know that story you use to tell everybody of the first time you met my husband to be who was my best friend at the time well I guess I gotta tell it and never let him forget it since you are not here. when he came in the house and walked in the closet by accident because there was a curtain closing of the other room and he had never been in a mobile home before that was so funny everytime you told it!

being the place you always just took fruit right off the trees and ate.
Cumquats, tangerines, oranges, grapefruit, lemons...what else?? You never left
their place without a bag of fruit! They were always the best too. Speaking of
fruit trees, I remember this being one of the "chores" too. Had to climb up
ladders and pick the fruit. It was always exciting when the horses would come up
from the backyard too while picking the fruit. I remember being "let loose" to
the freedom of the yard so many times and going directly to the very back fence
just so I could hopefully get to pet the horses. I remember many family get
togethers in the backyard as well, cousins, aunts, uncles. It was the closest we
had all ever been to all of our cousins. Pop built a slide and a merry-go-round
for us to play on. Ah the merry-go-round. Remember the spit game? Yaaaah. Not
even gonna explain that one. Someone had to be the one spinning! Ahh and the
popsicles! Popsicles galore! The pickles too. Best thing to have on hot sunny
Florida days. But that backyard though. It was an adventure. There was always
somewhere new to explore. There were the "do not go" places too, which made us
even more curious. Fun times. Good ol' Pop with cumquats in his pockets on
Christmas day. Pop with the paddle (Hah! I never got a paddling!). Pop who sat
next to me in restaurants. He would whisper to me "I want everyone to know that
I have the prettiest girl as my date." Pop who taught birds to "vacuum a floor"
or dance. Pop who saved a lot of animals and took care of them to the best of
his ability. I had a dream after he had passed about being in a field having a
picnic. There were others there. (We have had many picnics.) We had a
conversation but as many dreams go, I cannot recall what all was said. One word
I vividly remember being said by him was "peaceful". I like to believe that he
was trying to tell me wherever he is, is very peaceful. I love you Pop! My
memories may not be the clearist but they are my memories, and the little bits
of them here and there were the most of my childhood and growing up! I had the
best times because of you.

Just a few memories in my mind about Pop to share. I've already shared with some
of you about my first fishing experience. I couldn't tell you my age, probably
early teens. He drove me out to a creek/pond (something like that). Showed me
how to bait a hook with worms. I remember just sitting in the dirt shoving hooks
in worms all different kind of ways. It was gross but didn't bother me. We
fished for a while. Filled up a bucket, came back home and showed off to my mom
and Nanny the fish we caught. I don't recall much conversation when we went. I
always wanted to go again but time goes on and there were other experiences. I
remember anytime we stayed the night at nanny & pop's (which was quite often) we
wake up at the buttcrack of dawn from all the loud birds. I'm not sure if it was
just me or if he took my brothers too but he would bring me in the far backyard
to pick all the eggs from the chicken pins. Oh yes, you had chores when you came
to nanny and pops! Gotta earn your keep around here he'd say! (He never said it
but I know he was thinking it!) He showed me this long wooden stick with a spoon
attached at the end and showed me how to stick it in the cage and pick up the
egg and bring it back out. Simple right? Not if the chickens acted like
nuisances and either sat on the egg or tried to attack you threw the cage fence!
This would probably explain my fear of a lot of birds this day. City girl
stealing eggs from mamabirds didn't always go down well.

"My Pop"
 For those of you that don't know, my Pop, Tom Warren, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 5th at the age of 77. Today, Oct. 9th we lay him to rest. He was one of the most influential people in my life. He was the very definition of "family man" & "hard-working man". He taught me everything from fishing to changing a tire, how to cheat a soda machine, to how to make shine, and cussing like a sailor to the sophisticated art of dumpster diving (yep, I said it!). He was always good for a "piss your pants" hilarious story. I don't think he ever bought a machine from a store. He either built it himself or created something new. He would take us on EARLY morning fishing trips. I remember one time going to a feeder creek from Black Creek on the side of Blanding. Couldn't have been more than 6" of water. Us grandkids wandered around from spot to spot while Pop spent, what seemed like hours in the same spot. I eventually walked over to see why he stayed in that same spot. There were about a dozen huge catfish swimming all around. That day he taught me his secret fishing technique, which that secret is still safe with me. But that technique wasn't working for him, so I took a shot at it myself. Within about 10 seconds I hooked the biggest catfish I've ever caught, still to this day. He said a few choice words from all that time spent in that one spot and I just walk over and hook the biggest one of the bunch in a matter of seconds and then he just cracked up laughing. This is one of the MANY memories of being with him. We spent a lot of time with him growing up during summers and weekends. None of us ever wanted to leave. I love and miss you very much Pop!

 Tom Warren there is no words to describe what this man really means to me it was the best grandpa any grandson could ever have He taught me everything I know and some. Pop you will be with me forever I love you.

This is what I remember about Pop. He'd give me drawings for projects to build and it would be project after project after project. We'd build a lot of stuff together. We'd been all over north Florida going to different peoples houses and collecting stuff. He had so many friends and family that is going to miss him. I'm going to miss him.

Oh Aunt Virginia how I will miss him. I will always remember him bribing me with ice cream to ride in his truck. All the watermelons we had growing up, not to mention the Easter egg hunts and, and, and- so many memories. He's got some great company with him, my daddy, Aunt Sherry, Michelle and Uncle Earl to name a few.  I bet that is one heck of a card game they are playing right now.

I'm the 10th Grandchild I have had 26years with pop. And I'm the one that would fill water in the pig pins and swim with them. Whenever I would hear pop coming ( and trust me you can hear him coming) I would jump the fence and hide behind a tree. But we did crazy things together. One time he said we were gonna go for a ride in nana's car of course , so here I am driving around we jump a ditch and drive under a bridge just to look at a tree. Another time we went shrimping and got the cops called on us. So many stories and memories to keep us going. He is LOVED,MISSED,and ALWAYS REMEMBERED MY POP! Love missy

A grandfather is very important in every little girls life and mine was very special to me. When I started taking my first steps he was my 'dada' and as I grew up he would tell me stories about when he was a little 'girl'. He used to say 'I'll give you a quarter for those warts.' And then he would rub the quarter on my warts and I never understood why they disappeared. Whenever you slept over at at his house you could never sleep in, he would wake you up at the crack of dawn. If you refused. He would constantly keep bugging you. He loved donuts and talking to people. He could make friends with complete strangers. You always would walk away with a smile on your face. He was a very lively man. Always telling jokes. That's where I get my sense of humor from. As the youngest grandchild, I was spoiled rotten from him. I will miss you greatly Pop. We lost our Patriarch, My Kids Great Grandpa, My Grandpa...a man who could tell a story like no other and who could make you laugh so hard you would pee! Your home was my first real home! Love You Pop

Tom, i never met you but i know you a bit from Martin's stories and i had the honor of meeting your family. You did a great job Sir, respect, you have a wonderful family, i know how much they miss you but they also have great memories with a smile and lots of love to remember

Misti, So sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope you Mom doing OK. Hang in there. Christian Luv . I know it is hard when u lose your mate especially as long timers. Lots prayers. It doesn't get easy you just learn to deal with things. Hang in there.

 Misti ,I am so sorry to hear about this. What a shock you and your family must be going through. How are you and the girls holding up? I say every day that we need the new system so bad. Everyone is full of aches and pains constantly and so many are dying. And you must be grieving terribly, but...just a little while longer and our relief will come. We both are looking forward to that paradise.

I woke up from a dream with Pop at a picnic! He talked to me. I can't remember what he said but I do remember one word from his mouth "peaceful".
