

Vauna Marie Shonk passed into the arms of our loving Lord on July 20, 2026, at the age of 73, after a long and courageous battle with her health. Born August 4, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Vauna was the daughter of the late Ralph O. Robillard and Alice E. (Gill) Robillard. Vauna attend West Springfield High School in Springfield, Virginia, where she was remembered by her instructors as a delightful and exceptional student.
Throughout her life, Vauna was known for her warm smile, compassionate heart, and remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. She enjoyed traveling, remained active in her communities and built a successful career in management, including positions in real estate and managing a Marine Enlisted Club on a military installation. Whether at work, among friends, or with family, Vauna had a gift for making others feel welcomed and valued.
Vauna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her love for family was evident in the countless ways she cared for those around her. She found great joy in cooking for loved ones, gathering family together, and especially spoiling her grandchildren. Her kindness and compassion were expressed, not through grand gestures, but through the thoughtful, selfless care she gave so freely every day.
A woman of quiet strength and unwavering faith, Vauna stood proudly beside husband of 15 years who served in the United States Marine Corps, offering a steadfast support, grace and devotion. Her resilience, wisdom, loyalty and great sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Vauna enjoyed reading, puzzles, stained glass creations, quilting, and playing cards. She approached each hobby with patience , creativity, and enthusiasm. Friends and family also fondly recall that she could occasionally be found running a pool table, revealing a spirited and adventurous side that always brought smiles.
Vauna is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Shonk, daughter Jonnie Ann Vidales and husband Dimas Vidales, Jr.; cherished grandchildren, Deacon Thomas Beatty and Vichelle Marie Veatriz-Vidales, devoted sister, Robin Smallwood and husband Dan, brother Matthew Robillard and wife Debra, many loving nieces, nephews, and lifelong friend Marla Whitelock.
She is preceded in death by her children, Vichelle Marie Jones and Brian Jones, and sisters; Sheri Anne Robillard and Diana Renee Hoy.
A Funeral Mass and burial of her cremains will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32789. Dates and times are being finalized and will be announced at a later date.
Vauna's legacy of faith, love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
