Virginia "Ginny" McDonald received a blessing on Saturday March 3rd and has joined her husband in a place where she is back to full mobility, remembers everything and always has a quick witted response at the ready. Ginny was a remarkable woman with an amazing capacity for love as shown by the hundreds of foster children she took care of during her 40+ years as a foster and medical foster parent. Very few people have touched so many lives and families. Those of us lucky enough to call her Mom, Nana, sister and friend will cherish the memories and celebrate her incredible life! In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either the Alzheimer's Association (https://alz.org) or the American Parkinson Disease Association (www.apdaparkinson.org). A Celebration of Life will be held 3:30 PM Friday March 23, 2018 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Road Middleburg, Florida 32068. Please leave words of comfort at www.hollyhillfunerals.com.

Colleen, Danny, Nalani and Patrick, I'm so sorry about ya'lls mom.. what a great lady she was and great values she gave and left to each of you. She touched so many lives in her fostering and I know Colleen has continued in her legacy and now Colleen's kids too. She was a fun Horse Mom at the horse shows, that Colleen and I enjoyed so much growing up! I know that your mom and dad and my mom and dad are having a reunion of their own in Heaven, no more pain, and sharing all kinds of memories May she Rest In Peace.

I met Ms. Virginia and her husband through her daughter Colleen and fostering about 16 years ago. I watched her nurse and love many children through the years. Every parent and child she worked with was truly lucky to have her family in their life. A few who were blessed enough to become her grandchildren. To care someone else's children we have to open our homes to many people never to live privately again. Moreso our hearts to heartache for the children who have been broken, neglected and many times over never loved and wanted. I have only met a few people who have mutigenerational family members who foster and to you Ms. Virginia I say thank you. Thank you for so many wonderful memories for myself, and countless others who were blessed enough to be touched by you and your family. Fly high!
