It is with Great Sadness and a Broken Heart that I must tell all our Family and Friends that My Beloved Husband, Wayne Joseph Wrobel, born February 24, 1947, age 69, passed away, peacefully at home on Monday, September 26, 2016 in Orange Park, FL. Wayne was the Son of Mary Procko of New Britain, CT and Joseph Wrobel of Plainville, CT.
Wayne was the Beloved Husband of Ruth Anne (Hensley) Wrobel. Wayne leaves a Son, Michael Bruce Wrobel, of Simsbury, CT, and Two Step-Sons; Jason Matthew Vincent and Katy Alvord (Partner), of Farmington, CT; four Step Grandchildren, Caitlain Marie Vincent, of Somers, CT; Brett Matthew Vincent of Somers CT; Ashlynne VanDiest of Kingston, Washington; and Ethan David Rivera of Farmington, CT; one Step-Great Grandson Zachary James Hulevitch of Somers, CT.; and David Eric Vincent and Kristine Kravontka Vincent (Spouse), along with two Sons, Andrew James Vincent and Ryan Joseph Vincent of Windsor Locks, CT.
Wayne also considered Edwirma (Yvette) Mendez, Sophia Rivera, and Ivette (Evie) Rivera, of New Britain, CT, his extended family and helped them as much as he could within the constraints of his illness.
Wayne grew up and attended school in New Britain, CT. Wayne helped his Father in his Service Station since he was thirteen years old and loved anything mechanical. He studied tool design at The Porter and Chester Institute, Rocky Hill, CT. Wayne never considered working on cars or repairing machines work, he just loved being around mechanical projects.
Wayne worked for Fafnir Corporation as a Tool Designer in New Britain and Plainville, CT; but his love of working on cars took him back to his roots working alongside his father and then owning the Service Station at the corner of Broad and Booth Streets in New Britain, CT. Wayne later Managed several Midas Shops in different locations, but his favorite was West Springfield, MA. He then managed Tech Automotive in Portland, CT. Wayne retired in 1996.
Wayne was a lifelong resident of Newington, and Avon, CT. He enjoyed many Outdoorsmen sports and loved both movies and music which he could watch and listen to for hours. Wayne loved to travel, his most cherished times were on the Caribbean Island of St. Maarten, where he had developed many friendships with the business and trades people there. When he traveled there it was always a sweet homecoming for him.
During his retirement he became an avid Connecticut "UConn" Women's Basketball Fan, which led him to become a Season Ticket holder to the Connecticut Sun Women's Basketball Team. (He was so looking forward to the 2016 Seasons' upcoming WNBA Playoff's.)
Since moving to Orange Park, Florida, he had fallen in love with the area and especially loved going to Jacksonville Beach and his favorite pastime was shopping for new plants and small tropical trees, especially palm trees. Wayne loved our new home, our neighborhood, and the Village of Oak Leaf.
Wayne concentrated on his favorite pastimes and caring for Me, our Family, and our Home life. Wayne was a wonderful Husband, he spent many hours everyday making sure his marriage was the first and last thing on his list each day. He made sure that he and I were constant companions and always found time to help anyone that needed him. Wayne was so kind and honest, he always did the right thing and in doing so made me so proud of his constant integrity. Wayne was a hardworking person all his life, even in illness he always strove to be diligent in maintaining his daily routines. He loved all animals and if he saw a hurt or injured animal tears would flow down his cheeks.
When I met Wayne he was so strong of body and spirit, his will to succeed was so forceful, I truly thought that nothing worldly could stop him. How sad the World is now without him.
I shall miss my Husband and Companion everyday for the rest of my life. Thank you Wayne for being my constant conscience and confidant'. My Love, and the Love of My Life.
Arrangements under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, Middleburg, FL.
