

William Orvill Pownall Jr., known to the world as Bill, passed away at the age of 69 on March 30, 2016. Bill was born November 3, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio and resided in Middleburg, Florida for the past 25 years. Bill served as a solider in the US Army 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam. In addition to being an entrepreneur, he was an intuitive mechanic and craftsman that gave him the determination to complete any project he began. He was a teacher to his wife and sons as he enjoyed sharing his knowledge. He spent his life being selfless and being a role model to others. Bill had a profound influence on his family and friends, and will be missed immensely. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his garage on projects or merely talking to others that stopped by. He was a solider, a mechanic, a teacher, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years Patti; his sons, Jason and Christopher; Jason’s wife Jessica and their two boys William and Grayson Pownall; his older brother Richard Pownall and his wife Ethel; sisters Nancy Brenneman and Judy Roth and her husband Tom. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held April 16th from 1-3 pm at VFW POST 8255, 2296 Aster Ave Middleburg, FL 32068. Interment will be private at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
