Woodrow (Woody) Stephens of Orange Park, Florida passed away on February 25, 2026. He was born on 3/5/1938 in Fruita, Colorado to Willard and Vera (Velasquez) Stephens. He grew up in Dallas, Texas and returned to Grand Junction, Colorado when he was in high school. It was here he met Delores Crosby. They married June 26, 1957. Woody enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1955, as a Hospital Corpsman. He served with the U.S. Marines in Vietnam from 1964-1965, and retired from the Navy in 1974. He started a second career with the State of Colorado as an oil and gas inspector and field supervisor, retiring in 1998.
Woody is survived by his three children: Kena Roberts, Bryan Stephens (Mirna), and Tracy Stephens (Julie). Also survived by five grandchildren: Sara Gould (Eric), Eric Stephens, Nicole Stephens, Amanda Stephens, and Michael Stephens, and great-grandson, Boe Thieme.
Proceeded in death by his loving wife Delores, his sisters: Patricia Hobbs, and Veronica Contreras, also his parents Willard and Vera Stephens.
Woodrow and Delores will be interred at the National Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida on April 10, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or any U.S. Veterans Organization.
