

Before his fight with cancer he lived a fulfilled life growing up in Indiana with his parents, Paul and Bernice and his two sisters Martha and Rosie, he joined the Army and adventured overseas.
After his service he moved to California and lived close to his oldest sister, Martha. During this time he met his wife, Priscilla Francis Bennett and had two children, his daughter, Casey Bennett and his son Paul Bennett.
As a family they ventured to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Art worked as a machinist for most of his career but also successfully dabbled in real estate. After the passing of his wife and a full career Art retired. He travelled and visited family, and friends. Art then met Janet Clingan, his significant partner and moved to Monroe, North Carolina.
Art had three grandchildren, Ashley and Amber, the daughters of Casey Bennett and Sam Pendlay and Jaden the daughter of Paul and Taunya Bennett. He was also close to his nieces and nephews. Art was an Army veteran and a member of the Benton Heights Lions Club. He was also a ping pong whiz, enjoyed golf, fishing, motorcycles and going to the casinos.
In celebration of his life there will be a service on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 eastern. The location will be at the McEwen Funeral Home at 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd. in Mint Hill. After the service the celebration will continue at the home of Casey Bennett at 2542 Windsor Chase Dr. in Matthews.
There will be a burial service, mid-June in Albuquerque, Art’s resting place will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetary in Albuquerque, New Mexico. More information will be shared at a later date.
