

Barbara was born in Anderson, SC to the late James Baxter and Bennie Watson.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by two sons, Tommy Bridges (Brenda Garrison) and Baxter Bridges ( Sherry); two daughters, Linda B. Floyd (Kenny) and Betsy B. Willoughby (David); ten grandchildren, Michelle Brown, Greg Bridges, Ashley Helms (Jason), Jamey Bridges, Erica Wright (Richard), Kyle Bridges (Shanie McConnell), Connor Bridges, Cheryl Provost (Brian), Shannon Cole and Sarah Haynes (BO); ten great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Devon Bridges; aunt and uncle who raised her after her parents passing, Flay and Margaret Ledford; beloved sister and best friend, Elizabeth Watson; aunt and uncle A.W. “Peter” and Minnie Wright; one granddaughter, Lori Ann Bridges; one great granddaughter, Nicole Bridges; and daughter-in-law, Paula Kidd Bridges.
Funeral services will be held at twelve o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 with a visitation held one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Shelby, North Carolina.
We would like to thank The Elliotte Family for the care of our mother during her stay at Lawyers Glen as well as their staff, the staff of Clear Creak Nursing and Rehab Center and Hospice Care at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center. To our extended family and friends, thank you for your prayers, love and support as we say goodbye to our biggest fan and cheerleader. We are a blessed family.
