Betty Lowder

She was born on August 28, 1933, in Georgetown, SC, to William J. Tyson and Nannie Kelly Tyson.

Mrs. Lowder graduated from high school and obtained an accounting certificate from Piedmont Community College.

She was a longtime member of the Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Matthews, NC, where she was active in the Believers in Christ Sunday school class.

Survivors include her husband Daniel, Charlotte; her brother Grady Tyson and wife Cora Lee, Monroe, NC; her nephew, Franklin Scott Tyson, Monroe; her niece, Karen Lee Tyson, Florence, SC, and many nieces and nephews in Norwood, NC.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, January 21, 2011, from noon-1:00 p.m., followed immediately by her memorial service at 1:00 p.m., at Mount Harmony Baptist Church, 2817 Mount Harmony Church Road, Matthews, NC. The Reverend Dr. Buddy Pigg will officiate. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later time in the Norwood City Cemetery at Norwood, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Donna Lowder.
