Betty Chaney Troutman, 89, of Mint Hill passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 27, 2020. She was married to the late Leonard Troutman in 1949 and had two sons. Betty worked for Crompton & Knowles Textile Machines as a bookkeeper for over 20+ years, as well as a tax preparer for H&R Block in her retirement years.
Betty loved working in her garden and was especially well known for her tomatoes. She willingly shared her knowledge of gardening with neighbors and friends, as well as her family. Many will miss Betty's pickles.
Over her lifetime, Betty attended many churches, most recently Waxhaw Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Troutman in 2002. She is survived by her sons; Jerry "Doug" Troutman (Janet) of Weddington, NC and Michael David Troutman of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren; Angie Price (Dan) and Amy Troutman (Roger), great grandchildren; Hannah, Lola, Preston, Lennon and Jagger, sister; Bobbie Sue (Ralph) Morgan of Midland, NC and brother; Lance (Betty) Chaney of Midland, NC.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 31st, 2020 from 9:30am to 10:30am at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 11:00am at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill.
