On February 5, 1937, Mrs. Hinson was born and was raised in Union County, North Carolina, to the late Carl and Decie Belk. She was the baby of the family and adored her five older siblings.
Mrs. Hinson attended Union County schools before heading off to the Charlotte area to attend Burton Institute, which is now known as Central Piedmont Community College. It was at Burton that she met her beloved Bill Hinson. They were married in 1960 until his passing in 2011.
Cackie was a homemaker who loved her family, her church family at Blair Road United Methodist, gardening, flowers, painting, working in the yard and the companionship of friends and her sweet dog, Ninners, her loyal companion for the last 16 years.
Mrs. Hinson was a lady of great faith, being raised in the church and attending all her life until her health declined. She so enjoyed her hours of talking with her brother, LA, who was also her buddy. They spoke almost daily. Mrs. Hinson had also reconnected with some of her school friends from New Salem, North Carolina. She enjoyed their talks as well.
Cackie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and sister-in-law, and a fine and loving supportive wife to her beloved Bill, whom she cared for during his entire 30-year illness until his passing.
Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by husband, Bill, parents, Carl and Decie Belk, sisters, Verna Taylor and Vetra Cook, and brothers, Winfred “Buck” Belk and Sam Belk.
