

Our beloved mother, Catherine Robbins Milam, of Charlotte, NC, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2013. She passed away at The Little Flower Assisted Living. A native of High Point, NC, she was born May 1, 1925. Mrs. Milam was retired from Eastex Packaging Co. since 1988, where she was employed for 25 years. She was a devoted member of Bible Baptist Church and the Super Seniors Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel S. Milam, her daughter, Joann Tanner, and her brother, Wallace B. Robbins.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Yates and wife, Bonnie; son-in-law, Larry Tanner; grandson, Jason Yates and wife, Cara; granddaughter, Kelly Bridson; and seven great grandchildren, Chase Hobbs, Hunter Yates, Jacob Dennis, Lindsey Dennis, Jenna Yates, Carissa Yates and Myles Bridson.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. A private interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkesboro.
