Born in Annandale, Virginia, Chris attended St. Michael's Elementary School and graduated from Bishop D.J. O'Connell High School in 1979. He received an AS degree from Ferrum College and a Computer Science degree from Control Data Institute. Chris worked most recently as a LAN technician for American Airlines, and also worked for several computer companies.
During the summer of 1981, Chris worked in Yellowstone National Park, where he met his future wife, Louise. They were married for 35 years. Chris enjoyed hiking, fishing, photography, cars, computers, music, animals and trips to the beach.
Chris was preceded in death by parents, John and Mary Kelly, and his dog, Shadow.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Ellen Kelly; his daughter, Ashlynn Irene Kelly; his brothers, John Kelly and Anthony Kelly; and his niece, Natalie Kelly.
A service to celebrate Chris’ life will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 7th of August, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. The family will receive guests following the service at the funeral home.
