Cynthia Horne Martin

October 10, 1971April 13, 2021

Cynthia H. Martin, 49, of Locust, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, after a second hard fought battle with breast cancer. She was born in Charlotte, NC on October 10, 1971.

Cynthia worked for Messer Financial Group as a Contracting Manager. She always said that her second family was her co-workers there. They were there with her during her many cancer treatments.

She knew when her cancer came back that she might not be able to go into remission, but she never let it stop her from having a smile on her face and love in her heart. More than anything, she loved being Cian’s mom. He was an important part of her life. Being his mom was special to her.

Cynthia is survived by her parents, William and Gail Horne; her husband of 24 years, David Martin; son, Cian Martin; and brothers, Russell E. Horne and wife, Celeste, and Gary R. Horne.

A service will be held at a later date.

I have known Cyndi for over 20 years. Always a smile and a laugh. She fought so hard the first time and I am sure she fought just as hard the second. God bless the family as they work thru this.

I didn’t know Cindy but I know her Mom, Gail. Many prayers were lifted up for Cindy. Cancer didn’t win, Cindy did. She got her ultimate healing. All of you are being lifted up in prayer. Gail, I can’t imagine your heartache. Bring a Mom myself, my brain won’t go there but know that we’re praying for you❤️❤️
