Donnie lived a very fulfilling life as a supportive husband to his wife Samantha, and a loving and devoted father to his twin daughters Faith and Phoebe Rebaglia, as well as a caring uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He also was a loving and supportive younger brother to his sisters Robin, Kelly and Jennifer as well as the son to his parents Donald Francis Rebaglia and the late Jeanne Louise Broadhurst. Donnie also has many cherished memories with his late grandparents Kenneth and Jeanne Broadhurst as well as Francis and Evelyn Rebaglia.
Donnie enjoyed mechanics and working with his hands. His hobbies included restoration work on cars and engines, hunting, fishing and being an avid music fan and very gifted guitar player, with which he created a band named Railhead and created and produced an album with. Donnie then turned his talent for music into running sound systems for many local bands in the Charlotte area. He also was a martial art enthusiast and enjoyed watching UFC fights. A little-known fact was he accomplished becoming a brown belt in Japanese jiu jitsu many years ago and held the sport close to his heart.
Aside from his hobbies and talents Donnie was the kindest soul you could have ever met. He had a special gift to bond with many family pets and children, his kind heart was something that spoke volumes. He would never pass judgements on anyone and was always a steady hand and voice of reason for many. He was the hardest worker in the room and never let his paraplegia affect his life and how he wanted to live. He lived with respect, integrity and always with a sense of humor that was contagious. He always wanted to help his family and friends. He never gave himself the credit he was due but took pride in living the life the way he wanted. He may have been quiet in his demeanor, but he was the strongest person that we ever knew.
There will be a celebration of life in honor of Donnie’s memory that will be held at a later date. When arrangements are made, they will be announced. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Rebaglia Memorial Fund.
