

Mrs. Rich graduated in 1959 from Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French. She lived in the French dorm, Le Chateau, during her time at Middlebury and was an avid musician, playing jazz saxophone. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Rich is predeceased by her parents and eldest brother, Richard Brassington, formerly of Naperville, Illinois. She is survived by her three children, Stephanie Rich Nunner of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Susan Rich of Venice, California, John "Jack" D. Rich of North Port, Florida, her younger brother, Arthur Brassington of Mint Hill, North Carolina, her grandchildren Derek Nunner of Telluride, Colorado, Nicholas Rich of North Port, Florida, Cleo Rich of North Port Florida, her nieces Mary Brassington Brock of Naperville, Illinois, Kyshia Brassington Lineberger of Mint Hill, North Carolina, Tricia Brassington Moore of Mint Hill, North Carollina, Erika Brassington Guidera of Panama City, Florida and her nephew Richard Brassington, Jr. of Naperville, Illinois.
Mrs. Rich grew up in Bolton Landing, New York on the shores of Lake George. In her younger years, she was happiest being active and enjoyed hiking, camping, water skiing and tennis. In her adult life, Mrs. Rich resided in Sarasota, Florida for many years prior to moving to North Carolina in 2001 where she became a resident of Plantation Estates. Motherhood was her greatest passion and she was a devoted and loving mother to her three children. Mrs. Rich was an especially creative person, a skilled antique painter and gifted seamstress. She continued her artistic pursuits throughout her adult life.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 1:30 until 2:00p.m. in the parlor of Amity Presbyterian Church, 2831 N Sharon Amity Rd, Charlotte, NC 28205. A funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel of the church at 2:00p.m.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the community and staff at Plantation Estates for their kind loving care of Mrs. Rich over the past 15 years.
