He was born October 11, 1959 and will be laid to rest on August 25, 2021, the day he planned to celebrate his 37th wedding anniversary with Lisa, the woman he treasured most.
Doug was a pillar of strength and exemplified dedication in all ways of life, from his UNC Charlotte graduation to the decades spent with his Ceridian family and Pine Lake crew. He was an avid golfer with a great love for the game, which has already been passed down through multiple generations.
Above all else, Doug committed himself to the Lord, his family and dearest friends. And the bond between “Pop Pop” and his three grandsons will be ever enduring.
Doug will lie in repose on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00am at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church – Harris Campus Worship Center. There will be no visitation with the family. A service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at 11:00am in the Worship Center (masks required). Private interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. Julian Rauch, Curtis Meggs, Brent Meggs, Chip Galloway, Pat Warren, Eric Miller, John Fritz and Hank Hamilton will act as pallbearers.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to The Meggs Foundation, 5417 Old Course Drive, Charlotte, NC 28277.
