

Ernest was a native of Charlotte. After his military service, he worked for the City of Charlotte for 30 years before he retired to his small family farm. He had a passion for gardening and a love for fishing. He also loved to spend time with his family.
Mr. Hagler was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Hagler; and his brothers, Marvin Hagler and Bill Hagler.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Hagler; his children, Corenda Bodnar and husband, Jay, and son, Douglas Hagler; his grandchildren, Amanda Brock and her husband, Joe, Hope Ladd and Ethan Bodnar; one great grandchild, Bentley Brock; his sister, Dean Towell and husband, Clinton; brother, Bob Hagler and wife, Phyllis; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Mint Hill Baptist Church, 7835 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a funeral service immediately following at 2:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. The Rev. Lee Proctor will officiate. Interment will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
