OBITUARY

James M. Blaxland

April 29, 1965April 13, 2019

James M. Blaxland, 53, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 13 in Charlotte, NC. He was born in Camden, NJ and grew up in Lancaster, PA. Jamie was the son of the late M. Kathleen Blaxland and James E. Blaxland (and late stepmother Leslie Blaxland).

Jamie was a great friend to many and a business man who owned his drywall company, putting a focus on always being loyal to his employees and clients by getting the job done right. Jamie was an avid sports watcher and idolized the great Wayne Gretzky and Dan Marino. He cherished his time with his dog, Abby, and all of those he called friends. He had a passion for the simple things and lived at the speed of life. Although quiet by nature, he always spoke up when he could make a difference.

He is survived by his life partner Laura Mcnamee; son Korry Alvey; two sisters Barbara A. Betty and husband Cliff Betty of Denver and Brenda Blaxland of Bonita Springs, FL; nieces Amanda Shane, Lauryn Zeman; nephew Bradley Yerger; great nephews Hudson, Beckett and Sawyer Shane as well as Kai Zeman.

ADD A MEMORY
Cliff Betty

Hi, I'm Cliff."
With a little attitude..."Cool, so you like my sister?"
That exchange was over 41 years ago when I received the "3rd degree" from a protective little brother. For the last 37 years, Jamie was my brother-in-law and suffice it to say, I have fond memories from times spent together. There were many miles between us but he always made the time to stay in touch with his sister and by default me as well. We shared a love for all sports (we both suffered year after year with his Dolphins and my Redskins), talked about our families and our work, always ending our conversations with...love yeah. I know he touched a lot of people while on his life path, I'm thankful that I was one of them. R.I.P. stu-cat!
