Joe spent most of his career as a salesman for the folding carton industry. He loved football and was an avid University of Alabama fan--Roll Tide! From childhood, Joe had a passion for fishing and spent all of his free time sharing his joy of fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren, affectionately know as "Poppi" and "Papa". He had a special place in his heart for all his family and went out of his way to make sure everyone had all they needed before himself. Joe was such a loving, giving person, his joy, laughter, thoughtfulness, bonds he created with so many people, changed the lives of all he touched. He will be missed dearly by so many.
Joe is survived by his wife of 26 years, Brenda Teague; sister Linda Teague Shelby, sister Patsy Teague Owens, sister Leanne Garmon Spencer, daughter Susan Teague Schussler and husband Burt, daughter Mary Beth Teague Ingle and husband Chris, daughter Courtney Morgan Teague, stepdaughter Paige Holtzendorff Howe, stepson Brett Holtzendorff and wife Shelley. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren Lindsay, Landon, Cannon, Lauren, Dylan, Jackson, Hunter, and Jacob; and one great grandson, Sawyer. Preceded in death by his father Joe Magness Teague, his mother Merle Garmon, and sister Brenda Faye Teague.
A visitation for Joe will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM.
