I am John and Carol Blacks cousin from West Virginia. As a child living in Concord, my father and I used to visit them on Sundays after church. Melissa was a newborn baby then.
My condolences to Michael , Melissa and the rest of the family. John was a very kind and gentle man. I am sure his students adored him.

Love, Robbie

Years ago, Melissa and I worked at Hemby Bridge Elementary. She shared with me that her dad had written a children's book, and he was kind enough to come share his experience with our students. We really enjoyed Mary Rabbit and the Prize Pie! He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
