He was born on June 30, 1938, in Washington, DC, to James Arthur Cassidy, Sr., and Ruby (Cannon) Cassidy.
Mr. Cassidy served his country in the U.S. Air Force during peacetime.
He married Ruby Bowers to whom he had been married for forty-five years. The couple had resided in Mint Hill, NC, for twenty-three years.
Mr. Cassidy was a retired salesman for Snap-on Tool in Charlotte.
He had been active in the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby, Mint Hill; two daughters, Brenda Renfroe, Burke, VA, and Peggy Larson, Ellenton, FL; two brothers, Reverend Richard Cassidy, Rogersville, TN, and Bill (Judy) Cassidy, Accokeek, MD; one sister, Marian Berry, Bowie, MD; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There will be no services. Mr. Cassidy donated his remains to Duke University for anatomical study.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, James Arthur Cassidy, Jr.
